IPX Ratings
Why We Use IPX Ratings for Our Toys and Why You Should Care
At Dreamtoys, we want you to enjoy your toys confidently and safely. That’s why, instead of using vague terms like waterproof, water-resistant, submersible, or splashproof, we clearly label our toys with IPX ratings. The common terms can be confusing and vary wildly between brands, leaving you guessing about what your toy can actually handle. IPX ratings, on the other hand, are clear, standardized, and tell you exactly how much water exposure your toy can withstand.
By including the specific IPX rating in our product descriptions and on packaging, you’ll always know exactly what you’re buying and how to care for it properly. This means you’ll avoid accidental damage, keep your toy in top shape, and reduce unnecessary waste (good for you and for the planet!).
Water exposure is common with sex toys. Even if you’re not using them in the bath they still need to be cleaned after every use. Knowing the IPX rating helps you understand the safest way to clean and use your toy.
What Do IPX Ratings Mean?
IPX Ratings for Vibrating vs Non-vibrating Toys
Of course the above list is mostly applicable to and important for toys with a motor. For non-vibrating toys you can assume they’re IPX8, but keep in mind that you make them clean and dry before storing. One of the most hygienic and easy to clean toy materials is borosilicate glass.
